Flip Book Makes Electronic Publications More Attractive
Most publishing software is designed to
facilitate the design and layout of single pages.
However, many titles do include the option to create
publications that consist of multiple pages. Until
recently, the only way to view publications in an
electronic format was to scroll down a list of pages
and view the one or ones desired. Flip book makes
electronic publications more attractive to viewers.
When ebooks or electronic magazines are created
using flip book technology, the pages are laid out
in the same manner as they would be in the printed
version. When one wishes to change to another page,
he/she moves and drags the mouse, clicks on a button
on screen, or other means of advancing forward or
backward through the pages.
The software generates an animation of the page
turning and exposing the one underneath. The overall
effect is similar to holding the printed version in
one's hand and turning pages. Most users find this
more visually appealing than simply scrolling
through pages on a computer screen.
Electronic versions of magazines and books also
feature richer content than printed versions due to
the ability to include links to other pages,
websites, or information sources and sounds to
create a true multimedia presentation.
