Comparing Auto Car Insurance Rates
It used to be, that if you wanted to compare
rates for auto car insurance, you would have to
either call or visit all of the insurance agents in
your area. This could take a while, and be quite
tedious, especially if you lived in a large city
where there were lots of agents. (True, some agents
were independents, who represented more than one
insurance company. But still, there were still lots
of others that they didn't represent.)
Nowadays, comparing insurance rates is a lot easier.
All you have to do is to shop on the Internet.
There, you'll find lots of websites that can help
you out.
Many of these sites are run by a single insurance
company, and many others are run by agencies that
represent multiple insurance companies. Either way,
you can enter your zip code, along with any personal
information that they'll need to access your driving
record, to see your quote. The sites that represent
a single insurance company will typically show a
comparison of their rates with everyone else's. A
site that represents multiple insurance companies
will typically show rates from all of the companies
that it represents, giving you the opportunity to
pick the best one.
If you need to find one of these websites, there are
two ways to go about it.
First, there's radio. If you turn on your radio,
especially the FM music stations, you'll constantly
hear ads about these new on-line insurance sites. In
some of these ads, the spokesman will go to rather
extreme measures to get the point across. Like, for
example, the ad that starts off with a loud "crunch"
noise, followed by, "I just broke my own arm so that
I can demonstrate how easy it is to use this on-line
quote service." Other ads are a bit more sane and
less annoying.
And, of course, there's your favorite web search
engine. Searching for the term "auto car insurance"
should give you plenty of results.
